Backpack Program
Our backpack program alleviates a financial burden for many families. Before the beginning of the school year we buy and fill backpacks with necessary school supplies to be blessed and then distributed to various schools within the Sierra Vista area.  If you are interested in helping with this program, please contact Carol Jordahl (520) 227-2796

Helping Hearts Tutoring
Sierra Lutheran offers free tutoring to students of the nearby Bella Vista Elementary School.  As part of our community outreach program, tutors and children in grades 1-6 meet once a week to work on improving student math and reading skills.  To volunteer or obtain more information, contact Lynette Nowlan by leaving a message at (520) 459-0444.

Shepherd's Fold Child Care Center

Shepherd’s Fold began in October 1990 as a ministry of Sierra Evangelical Lutheran Church to provide quality, affordable child care in a safe, nurturing Christian environment for parents who work outside the home or go to school. Unlike the public school system, there are no restrictions on prayer, Bible stories, and sharing the Gospel message. Shepherd’s Fold currently uses the Faith Alive curriculum published by Concordia, as well as many other age-appropriate learning activities. The lesson plans are structured around faith-based, learning through play.  For more information, please contact Marilyn Hewitt  (520) 459-4746 or Dena Anderson (520) 459-0115.
